University campus
With China’s accession to WTO, rapid expansion of business
activities among the global markets and within China requires Chinese
financial and accounting professionals to master international financial
reporting standards. The Off-Campus International Master
of Accountancy (OC-IMAcc) program will further build a
bridge of advanced knowledge in accounting and related aspects of
business between China and Canada.
The OC-IMAcc program integrates knowledge of individual technical
accounting and business subjects in the context of a global environment.
The program fosters a culture of accountancy based on professionalism,
integrity, and independence of thought. Students will develop critical
thinking and communication skills through the use of cases and other
business projects.
All aspects of professional communication are strongly emphasized:
writing, speaking, listening, and reading.
We believe the graduate experience provides the breadth, depth,
and professional attitudes that will be needed by the accounting
profession in the future, and enhances the career prospects for
graduates.
The program encourages the development of critical thinking, analytic
and communication skills. It is intended to enhance the ability
of students to adapt and respond to a complex changing business
environment and to develop a professional attitude, with sensitivity
to related ethical questions.
The overall objective is to provide a strong academic grounding
that will support and encourage the expansion of knowledge for both
the individual and the profession over the long term.
