Gail Lynn Cook

Associate Professor of Accounting

Gail Lynn Cook is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Brock University. Prior to coming to Brock, she was on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Syracruse University. Professor Cook earned her PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from the University of Utah in 1990 and her CPA designation in 1984.

Professor Cook's teaching specializations are managerial and cost accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She also teaches accounting information systems and is particularly interested in the integration of accounting with other business disciplines.

Professor Cook's research and case studies have been published in Advances in Accounting Information Systems, Management Accounting, the Case Research Journal, The Journal of Accounting Case Research, Perceptual and Motor Skills, and the Journal of Management Education and presented at academic meetings.

She has volunteered with Jr. Achievement, has served on the Board of Directors of local chapters of the Institute of Management Accountants, and has provided consulting services for small businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Research


Professor Cook's research and case studies have been published in Advances in Accounting Information Systems, Management Accounting, the Case Research Journal, The Journal of Accounting Case Research, Perceptual and Motor Skills, and the Journal of Management Education and presented at academic meetings. Professor Cook's current research areas include integration of management skills into business curricula, service learning, accounting issues in the wine industry, and development of accounting cases.
