Brock’s Bachelor of Accounting program (BAcc) is one of eight universities in Ontario to have an undergraduate accounting program accredited by the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (SMA). The Accreditation Process has been designed to recognize those universities that achieve high standards of instruction in management accounting. The SMA is the leading Canadian accounting organization for strategic management accounting professional. They sponsor the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program, which is the premier designation for management accountants in Canada. CMA Canada.
The Society of Management Accountants of Ontario is a generous supporter of research and teaching at Brock and is the sponsor of the CMA-Brock Accounting Education and Research Council which supports research of importance to Ontario and Canada.
Brock’s BACC and BBA Accounting graduates are qualified, in most cases, to write the CMA Entrance Exam which allows them to begin the professional course of study with the SMA. Graduates of the BAcc with a minimum 75% will be exempt from writing the CMA Entrance Examination.
Brock CMA-MBA graduates are exempt from the Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) portion of the CMA program. In some cases, CMA-MBA students may also complete the Board Report portion of the CMA professional program while students in the Brock CMA-MBA program.
